Blockbusters sign up process is relatively straightforward. It includes additional security steps (verified by visa) as compared to Lovefilm so takes a little longer to join.
The website is packed full of information to help you decide which films to watch. You can search by genre (comedy etc), title, actor, theme or format. As a result at times the website can feel a little busy. However in next to no time you’ll find your way around.
Like most rental sites DVD’s users create a list of DVD’s to watch. Blockbuster also have a simple way of doing this. DVD’s can be placed in order so that Blockbusters can work out which to send next. Like the Lovefilm site, Blockbuster will warn you the first time you select a Blu-ray title in case you order by accident and its not supported by your DVD player.
Films are despatched by 1st class post with a return envelope. Like all providers Blockbuster is dependent on the vagaries of the postal service. In the rare event the wrong DVD is provided or the DVD is scratched you can log this on-line and request a new one.
By combining in-store rental at reduced price or free with all packages Blockbuster have included extra value in their packages. This is an extra feather in the Blockbuster cap.
As a new customer DVD rentals arrived quickly and before long I was in film heaven.
